History repeats itself, so goes the saying. Unfolding before our very eyes are prophetic events which to some seem unthinkable they would truly occur during our time. Think of what happened to the old Jewish Church in Christ’s time. Think of what had happened to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The parallelism between the two churches will be the pivotal point of our study: The Rise and Fall of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The distinguishing favours of God to us, if we do not restrain from sin, shall not exempt from punishment. We could not expect communion with God, unless we first sought peace with Him. Where there is no friendship, there can be no fellowship. God and man cannot walk together, except they are agreed.

The prophet Malachi had to deal with a different kind of situation now, people who were wondering why God was not doing something to correct the sins and the corruption in the land. The only answer that they could come up with was that God was not just, that he was unwilling to judge sin. The prophet came down hard on this kind of shallow thinking; he made it very clear that if they really wanted the justice of God to be meted out, no one could stand!
